On Monday, February 14, 2022, in West Liberty, Iowa, where 51.8 % of the population is Latinx. During a rally for “A day without Immigrants”, families and kids of excluded essential workers are holding signs in support of their parents. They gather in front of the City’s office asking for economic relief from the ARPA funds (The American Rescue Plan Act) to help them alíviate some of the expenses and behind payments of rent, medical, funeral, and other bills, due to the extreme effects of COVID-19 on the Latinx community.
